Dave & Jan Thiessen
Executive Director
After volunteering for many years, Dave and Jan officially got bit by the camp bug and joined the Ranger staff team in 2008. Jan pleases our staff and campers through her excellent performance as head cook, while Dave keeps the camp running and organized, often accomplishing both at the same time! Their kids are also quite involved: Tim and Brooke help with everything from paintball to filing, and Nicole spends most of her time lifeguarding at the pool. During the school year, the Thiessens call Dalmeny their home.
Greg & Jessica Benson
Camp Director
Greg and Jessica worked at Ranger Lake during the summers of 2001-2005, and in 2006, they joined the full-time staff team. They have three children–Leif, Annika and Trygve–who love camp just as much as their parents. Jessica is a Registered Nurse and photographer. They spend their winters in Saskatoon. Greg is in charge of camp programming, discipleship, and all of our DIRT camps.
Daryl & Dawn Grunau
Creative Director
Daryl and Dawn Grunau joined the full-time staff team in April 2009. Dawn works in the children’s ministry department at Cornerstone Church and Daryl is known as the “Camera Guy” during the summer. Raymond & Lorna Bourget
Site Manager
Ranger Lake was searching for a new site manager to take care of building and campsite maintenance and management. God answered our prayers by providing Ray and Lorna Bourget. Along with their daughter, Debbie, the Bourgets moved to camp in February 2012 from their work at Circle Square Ranch in Alberta. Ray enjoys working with horses and the outdoors; he served as a wildlife officer in the North West Territories for many years!
As missionaries, the Bourgets are currently raising funds to help cover their salary at Ranger. If you’re interested in helping them out, or if you just want to say ‘hi’, please email ray@rlbc.ca
